Will a 964 C2 exhaust system fit a 3.0SC?

Quick question:

wil a 964 C2 exhaust system fit a 3.0SC?
(the entire thing: heat exchangers, cat and 2 mufflers)

Thanks!

If no, why not?

I've already searched the net and found 3 answers

a) it fits
b) it fits but you need longer exhaust studs
c) it doesn't fit, the exhaust flanges are reversed, but by looking at pictures, the flanges look the same.
d) it fits with a 915 but not with a G50

I'm going to pick it up in an hour or so, but the price is correct, so I should be
able to sell it on for the same price if it doesn't fit.

Check out Steam Roller's Flange Machining

M2CW is that fitting the heads and clearing everything else are separate issues.

Check the last page of the Thread to see how to avoid changing exhaust studs: Thin Flange vs. Thick Flange Heat Exchangers

You forgot the exhaust exit is on the wrong side of the car.

At the end of the day, you can MAKE anything fit.

Unless you got it for free, I'd say its not worth the aggravation.

My $.02

my car is already updated to a 964-look,
so the exhaust tip will be at the correct side.

the muffler I have now is completely shot (too much welding and too loud)
and the entire set for the C2 i can buy now is half the price for a custom
muffler for my car.

that's why

Hell...try it out!

Worst thing that happens is it doesn't fit, was just tossing out pessimism to get the gears turning.

Will NOT work with a 915 transmission in a 3.0SC, don't waste your time or money!!
When I installed a 964 3.6 into my '80SC, I had to replace the 964 complete exhaust system
with one from a 3.2 Carrera due to a clearance problem with the 964 exhaust manifold
crossover and the 915 trans.

Ok thanks,

guess I'll have to wait another month to have a stainless steel muffler custom welded then.

Greetings,
Johan
