You could always buy them from our sponsor, Pelican.

Possible follow-ups to this post:

= The front of my top doesn't sit flat
= My targa top flew off
= I cannot fit seal to lip

I don't mean to be a jerk, and I understand you want and need to spend as little money as you can, but really, using Pelican's 'board to shop part prices? Our sponsor *sometimes* costs more, but the service, advice, and return policies are the best. Why not take advantage of that?

Finally, if nothing else, please be sure to purchase the front seal from Dan at CarsInc. Look it up.

The top seal was discontinued or changed years ago. The new one is bigger Dan has the original size.

It is not that they are better, it is that Dan's seals are custom-made to fit our (older) cars. Porsche superseded our old, thin seals with the later thicker seals and the amount of grief drove Dan to create the "new" old seal again.

Dan's seal is ~$190.00. Consider what you will save in headaches...

Arrow +1 for Dan

There are slight differences with the seals depending on what year your car is and the fit needs to be exact. I remember an PP thread on front targa seals. This parts is available from a variety of vendors but will only fit a C2 eventhough marketed as fitting earlier cars. I guess technicallly the seal would fit but it has to be cut down.

Dan is an expert on targa seals and frankly I wouldn't bother going anywhere else.

Just a counterpoint. Dan's seals don't always fit either same for top restorations.

Isn't Dan's special seal actually made by Uro?

Pelican's seal is exactly the same WRONG seal that you can source from any Porsche dealer. The seal is made for 964, NOT for '89-earlier. There is only ONE source for the correct seal, and that is Dan Petchel at Carsinc. Go ahead and buy from Pelican and waste your time. You guys need to do some research on this forum as this has been discussed a thousand times. Use the search button.

******** is like a penny stock when it comes to our cars... I buy stuff randomly from ROCK, but only when it is DIRT cheap. In most circumstances those parts become a paper weight. Once in a long while is there the "right" part at a good price.

As for Dan, he is 20 minutes from me... so that shall be my source for all things related to the top.
