Need help with motor color

Hi,
Just had a topend rebuild on my '87 3.2 & currently doing a final dressing
on the motor. Can anybody tell me what the stock color is for the valve covers?
Thanks!

They are supposed to be left a natural aluminum. However, many people choose to paint their covers, usually with the "wrinkle" type paint. Black is popular as is red, etc. Depends a lot on the color of your car.

Thanks Fred, I think I'll go with the natural aluminum.
Any suggestions to retain that natural look?

The easiest way is to clean them really well each time you remove them for a valve adjustment, usually once a year or each 12,000 miles.
