Decklid fit in back?

Hi. In a few weeks I'm flying to Seattle to pick up an 86 Carrera and drive it back to Calgary. The car has a tailless decklid on it now but comes with the whale tail decklid as well. Before I leave I'll be swapping back on the whale tail but want to take the tailless lid too. Will it fit in the car behind the front sets?

Cheers

It will fit, No problem. You could even put it in the Frunk wrapped in a blanket.
(Frunk = Front trunk)

Well that's interesting. Thanks. My wife and I will be traveling fairly lightly so I dont need gobs of space but I'd way rather have the lid somewhere other than the backseat.

a 40" x 29" space is what you need. (just measured a spare one I have)
Should just fit in the frunk if the PO didn't install a strut bar...
Otherwise no problem in the back seat area.

If you're worried about space, You could always just package it up and ship it to yourself via fedex ground. Greyhound freight will be even cheaper.

Have a safe trip home!

Oh, just realized that customs could be an issue ($$$$). Yeah, try to fit it in the trunk.
