Pelican Parts Sunday's Engine Rebuild Book Teaser Pic...

If there was ever a perfect advertisement for Competition Engineering, this is it. This is what Walt's table looks like when he's assembling an engine. I doubt that you would find better organization and cleanliness if you went in for surgery!

Hey......looks just like my work bench when I'm in the middle of a thrash.....cough..

Those pistons don't look like Mahles to me......not that there's anything wrong with that.........

Cool

Walt did my machine work..he made sure any answers to questions I had on the rebuild were clearly understood..IMHO, Walt is one of the few great Porsche engine rebuilders in the US..and I must have the best for the safaris my 911 goes on..............Ron

That looks like a standard 'oil drip pan' that all the parts are resting on. Great idea (now... I'm going out to get one).

BTW, those pistons look too nice!

Not to be picky...but...are those cams just sitting on the aluminum tray?
No padding?
I agree that horizontal..or vertical....never "leaning" is the correct storage method, but I would never let any metal touch the lobes under any circumstances.

The cams look like they're lying on a shop-rag.

The distributor body appears to be corroded! You are going to fix that, aren't you? Also, the oil pressure sending unit(?) next to it needs a little cleanup.
