Who has re-done the leather on their steering wheel?
The leather on my '79's steering wheel is looking a bit tired, so I bought a kit to re-do it, now I'm having second thoughts. I don't want to take the leather off only to be disappointed after attempting to replace it.
Has anyone done it? - Any regrets? Jason

Instead of doing it yourself, you might consider paying someone who has done it before and you have seen photos of their work and not do it put yourself only to be disappointed ...just an option

I did it once myself 20 some years ago and said never again- very time consuming, not necessarily difficult.
Couple years ago I sent it to Dallas Sterring Wheel and they did a flawless job for around $400 including shipping both ways.

I did my own. It's not difficult, just time-consuming.

I have seen good comments left by those that had their steering wheels recovered by them in the search menu on this forum

I did mine about 20 years ago. It still looks great and I get pleasure from knowing I did it. How long did it take? Umm, a comfortable seat and three coffees. I'd rather spend the $400 on entertainment.

Good luck on doing yours! I don't have the patience, nor desire, to do this sort of thing myself. Post pics of the results!!

CarBone Livery in Poland (yes Poland) does good work. I had them reupholster a 964 wheel with a top center stripe. Only 'issue' is the leather doesn't match the airbag. Obviously not an issue with a non-airbag 911. I looked into Dallas Steering Wheel as well. Good work but very expensive.

Dallas has done 5 or 6 for me. They will continue to receive my business. Well worth the money.
