Rebel Racing Bump Steer ordered from Pelican lately?
Anyone ordered and received a Rebel Racing bump steer kit from Pelican lately?
I got mine and expected the kit to have the small rubber protectors (not the full boot), but I didn't get any. Since the parts ship from Rebel and I haven't gotten a response from Clint at Rebel, figured I'd see what folks are receiving. Did you get the rubber protectors? Here is a picture with the rubber protectors: ![]() |

I think the boot kit (weather seal) replaces the small cup seals. Clint has them for $20

I installed a couple of these kits about a year ago and neither had the boots.

Without the rubber cups, is the large boot even doing any good? I see in the below picture where the cups are part of the package...i.e. the cups are needed or the boot is too loose where you need it.

From those two pictures, the cups are going to do more to keep debris out of the bearings...and it appears they are no longer being supplied.

that's not the cup you see, it's the lip of the boot!

I just spoke with Clint and he said he hasn't been using the small cups for years because they aren't very effective once the bolt articulates. The rod end can be run bootless but it is better to use the full boot.
Pelican has an old photo.

Clint is tough to get a hold of these days. Figure the guys who have used them would chime in.
Looks like the the users HAVE chimed in. This picture is what I needed to see. It's not a perfect boot as I can see part of the bearing. Better than nothing I suppose. ![]() |

hard to tell from the pic but maybe the full boot has been altered to integrate the small seals so you have a one piece design?
