will this sway bar fit my 911?

I am missing the rear sway bar on my 1971 911. From what I understand the one that came on my car is a 15mm. I have found a 18mm sway bar from a 1976 911. Will this fit my earlier model 911?

The sway bar bolts up as earlier versions, but it won't fit without modifying the drop link connection to the suspension. Your car may have a ball pivot on each trailing (control) arm to connect the factory sway bar drop links. However, some cars may not have them the ball. Depends on what the factory supplied as new.

Later control arms use a threaded boss for a bolt-attachment to the later drop link.

It would be cleaner to find a pre-owned early sway bar setup or to install an aftermarket SB (uses different suspension attachment location). BTW, PAG also offered a 16mm version. Go here for more early 911 info: Early 911S Registry or purchase a copy of Bruce Anderson's 911 Performance Handbook.
