Hey guys:
Five minutes into my first-ever spark plug change on my '83SC, and I find this spring in the engine bay, just hanging out by cylinder #3. Any idea what it could be from? ![]() Last edited by garment; 06-22-2013 at 06:33 AM.. |

Looks like a throttle return spring.

First check throttle return.
Might help others if you post year & model.... |

Tks!
Sorry, '83SC, noob mistake...
Can I assume Bentley will walk me through replacing this spring? And if it is the throttle return spring, what symptoms should I be seeing on the car since it's unattached? I have been experiencing high idle, but that sounds coincidental... |

It attaches to the throttle console. Follow the linkage to the back of the engine, which obviously is facing the front of the car.

one end of the spring to the throttle plate bellcrank top hole, other end to the tab on the underside of intake tube #3 on CIS car.
