finally... took the time to go into the trunk, removed air ducts etc to get access to the cig lighter socket from behind with an intent to rewire ground. the grounding wires looked somewhat complex (to me at least) as some go to the neighbor fog light switch and defrost switch. So i just fiddled with them taking them out and reconnecting them several times hoping some scraping would freshen up contacting points/ surface. tested with some device connected to the cig lighter socket, the wiper no longer came on. so i got satisfied with it, put everything back together...i did not add grounding wire. will see. It may eventually come back but for now, i'm good.

removing those ducts in the trunk take a little patience and time but it wasnt that bad...rather therapeutic for a slow sunday morning... good times...

...and i lied. it's not like every time i put some load on to the cig lighter socket, but intermittently, the wiper still comes on. far better than it used to be where the wiper used to come on every time i plugged something into the cig lighter socket. now it is just intermittent god knows what triggers.

so, i went back in, removing the blower, ducts, and all.

on cig lighter socket, there are two ground prongs. one of the female terminal has a male terminal that allowed me to add another ground wire, so i did. connected the other end of the wire to the chassis to add ground to the cig lighter socket.

another thing i did was to route this wire to the wiper relay ground stud so that the wiper relay now has additional ground.

hoping this resolves the problem.
