She said it last night. Recovery plan?

Last night, while she talking to one of her girl friends, she said, "I wish he would treat me as good". Obviously she has noticed my affection for the "german mistress". Where did I go wrong?

This is going to take more than just flowers. I need a long term plan to deflect future clues from crossing her mind. This must be a common ploy among the users of this BBS.

Does SCWDP have any structured plans available? I could see the whole female species rising agaist all of us. Sarah seems to be on our side. That may be the answer. A Porsche for her!

Is the Cayanne part of our plot? Wives in Porsche SUVs will save us! Maybe I've just mis-understood it all.

I'm betting that you are reading too much into it. Mine has made the same comments, but seems to enjoy pointing it out to her friends. Maybe she is just happy that my mistress lives in the garage!

Hint: Let her (no, MAKE) her drive it. Mine seems to "get it" more after she HAD to drive my car one day.

OT: What part of town? I'm in Humble.

It must have been the smell. Two days ago I drained the gas tank thinking there was only 1/2 gallon, but there was about 3 gallons. Gas went all over the floor and I used the dirty house towels to clean up the excess gas (more ozone for Houston). My clothes reeked of gas, too.

Smell is a strong clue. Is there an anti-gasoline fragrence on the market?

I have gotten the exact same words from my girlfriend, who is at least as high maint. as my 911. I think my changing the oil in her Bimmer last weekend placated her a little. It really does worry me though, as I can absolutely promise that my Porsche addiction will never go away, and I fear my girlfriend or maybe even the next one will just keep wishing it away and thinking it will change.

Hmmm. My definition of someone taking care of me is when we can pursue our own hobbies without feeling like one of us is neglecting the other. I guess anyone else would say she takes care of me - by most people's standards. My greatest wish is to just be able to pursue my hobbies two or three nights a week and not have it constantly hung over my head during fights. But I digress...

Yeah - that's what worries me.

I was fortunate, in that I loved all my dad's hobbies. He started taking me shooting when I was about 4 years old. I did my first oil change assist with him at about 10 yrs. old with the express purpose of preparing myself for eventual Porsche ownership. Watching Gunsmoke and then NOVA with him in the days before cable tv were also great times. And he and I were like kids in a candy store, driving 140mph on the Autobahn when I was in college.

I hope I get lucky again.

You guys put up with this kind of crap from your GIRLFRIENDS?

Wait till you're married and have kids (I want half Eddie). Run. Run rast and hard and far. And never look back.

There is no shortage of puntang the last time I looked. And there's certainly no shortage on skirt that wants to sit in the passenger seat of that 911 your current broad is bichin about. Putting up with one once of crap is one once too much. That's what marriage is for.

I agree with RarlyL8. Run Forrest! Run!

I have been married for 20 years. My sweet bride would never complain about the time or money I spend on my car. Very strange, this girl. She wants me to be happy.

We have spent 20 years trying to indulge each other to the extent that our time/budget allows.

If it doesn't feel like that to you, make tracks. Fast.

It could depend on what you do the other 4-5 nights a week. Some women are reasonable and have their own things going on so it is fine...others don't and it isn't.

Egad...me giving relationship advice?

RarelyL8, that's precisely why I am not married and probably won't be for a while. I plan to have all my toys acquired and paid for, before I start saving (diverting) money (from a 3.6l conversion fund to) for an engagement ring. I actually would not want a serious relationship with someone who was attracted to me because I own a Porsche. Such women are probably even more high maint. than the one I already have. Sure, there are plenty of sugar daddy 911 drivers for such women. But I am not one of them and I spend a lot of time working on my car because I love doing it and can't afford to pay a shop to do it for me. A Porsche girlfriend/wife (I know a lot of them in my local PCA circles) is someone who just accepts their man's addiction and lets him pursue it. Occasionally, the woman gets a ride in or to drive the P-car to remind her why her man is so consumed by the car. Yes, it just illustrates the men are from Mars - women are from Venus thing. We fix things and women whine about them.

A few years back, we had some friends over for dinner. While I was out in the garage with the guys showing off the Turbo Look and 914-6, one of the spouses asked my wife, "Don't you get jealous about how much time he spends with his cars?". She though about it for a while and replied, "He's never slept with any of them".

I'veeen married for 26 years and have had Porsches for 23 of them. We used to go through a three step buying process:
1. "No way in Hell!"
2. "I don't want to talk about it."
3. "Buy the damn thing and leave me alone."

Now, after years of trial and error, we are down to:

"Buy the dame thing, IF you can figure out how to pay for it"
(barring the use of credit cards and loans, of course)

They are out there. You just have to look real hard to find the good ones.

Moses, you sound like you're married to a clone of my wife. NEVER has my wife mentioned anything about the money or time I spend on my 911. Not even in an arguement. In fact, she was the one that pressured me to finally purchase the car I did. She was tired of me just looking and talking.

I take care of my wife and she takes care of me. Once you find one of these jewels, you'll never let her go.

"Once you find one of these jewels, you'll never let her go."

That statement could apply to a black/black '88 Coupe and/or a good woman.

i have been with my wife for fourteen years and although she has absolutely no interest in my burningoilsittingontheheat exchangerrunningrichgassmellin car she does support my interests / passions.... yes she shakes her head when i will spend $200.00 on a "switch" and not buy a new pair of shoes... but thats the guy she married.

the trick is ensuring the car (aka my interests) does not take precedence over family... so every once in awhile, instead of crawling under a car after our son goes to sleep ill grill some shrimp and open a bottle of wine... then tell her about the strip and paint i'm considering... lol

and its only a "car" right?... ahh but what a car.
