Heavily butchered 911L. Is this original???
Ok, so later in the week I am going to post some pictures of the custom engineering highlights in my 68L. It is scary what some folks have done to these cars. In the mean time, its been sitting around (somewhat) complete and I have been getting antsy to tear into it in order to make a call on its future. The vin is 118355XX
Can anyone advise me if is the original engine (case) or does it belong in a 69E? Numbers read; 6291790/ 901/09 24353 Case is a 1R/2R. |

There's a '69 E chassis somewhere longing to be reunited with that engine.

Well part of me wants to agree. It would be neat to find the owner with the original chassis. Part of me wants to give it a home in my 912(!) and then another part of me wonders if there was some crossover between 68/69 engine numbers???

is that a cdi ignition hiding in the corner? Also looks like the Hardi fuel pump was swapped for a Bosch. Not bad so far... hopefully other mods are like those.

But as for the 68/69 crossover, no. That is a late '69 E engine.
