Urgent cam tower question!!

I just received some 78-79 cam towers from a pelican gentleman. Fed ex

mine (from an 88 3.2) are stamped: 964-105-111-0r

the 78-79 ones i received to replace those are stamped: 901-105-111-1r

they sure look the same , and both are 4 bearing

are they completely interchangeable??

Help!! Trying to finish my long block tonite!!

Make sure the cam bore is 49mm for the later 4 bearing cams. Early cams are 47mm. I would have thought a 78 SC cam tower casting number to be 930 not 901.

Google 901-105-111 and it might help you figure it out.

Lots of PP thread on it. This on match the full number; http://www.early911sregistry.org/forums/showthread.php?54657-Info-on-unstamped-engine-case-901-105-111-1R
