Crunchmobile Value?

Hey,
Some may remember the "Sad Day" saga, where my 1975 911S(non sunroof)was crunched. Well finally after more than 14 months, one small claims case, Geico has finally coughed up some cash. Not nearly enough, but if I waited for a Superior Court case with lawyers and what not, I might have gotten another few thousand after splitting fees ect.
So now cutting to the chase, given the car is buckled at the left "B" pillar and the left door gap is closed up,(enough to crack the $399 Earl Sheib respray) and given the level of damage to the left rear, I am trying to value the remains.
The good is the car was driven home by me almost 65 miles, it shifted fine, and given the level of damage was a testament to the engineering of the PCar. So the transaxle and engine were running and working fine. The car has new Bilsteins on all four corners, 3.5" struts, aluminum bananas, SSIs(look unbent), The engine was rebuilt at 70Kish miles with timeserts(full reciepts), and all the right stuff, hydraulic cam tensioners, Webb Industries airbox, and a bunch of other stuff. If you are nice I will throw a couple airboxes(small port, uncracked), a programmable WUR, and all the remaining spares I had collected for the 2.7. Interior is tired(was next on the list), seats intact but needing covers, dash has a couple minor cracks, the rest of the interior is OK.

I am looking for an honest pricing estimate, not a fire sale event, but I am not under the illusion that is a F-40 either, just what you would pay for a rat rod, potential race car pile of parts ect.
Thanks
eric

While I've not done it with a Porsche, my experience with other cars makes me agree with John. The car is worth 2-3 times as much in parts as it sits now assembled. Maybe more. Since the settlement with Geico was marginal, parting it will allow you to recoup the car's value.

You know that can be fixed, yes? If it didn't involve the suspension, which it looks like it didn't, its just sheet metal and a rear frame rail that a good shop can pull back where it belongs, cut out/replace what needs replacing, and be done. All those rear "frame" rails do is give you a place to mount the engine.. good race body shops fix a lot worse than that!

Car is worth about $10-$12K if you disassemble and sell every single part, including cutting up for sheetmetal sales. It's a lot of work, but the only viable option I see other can selling whole for $2500.

Well,
I placed a craigslist ad, offers on the table, while aren't F-40 prices, they are all better than 2500. 00. My craigslist price was $5500.00, didn't seem to scare the natives away, so we will see.
Who knows, maybe I will buy a clapped out 912 and add some modern bits, or maybe a 911 roller, not in a panic sale mode, so the options are on the table.

Sounds reasonable. I can see at least $4-5k in sellable parts right off the bat, so hopefully your offers are approaching that neighborhood. Finding a roller to transfer parts into would be the best choice. You'd end up with a drivable car, plus parts left over to sell, most likely.

24 hours, sold! Very close to asking price. Several back up offers very close as well, one from a reputable parts reseller.
Thanks all!

Cashiers check cashed, title transferred, release of liability filled out and filed with the DMV. All done except for the spending of the cash, hmmmmmm.
