So. CA Mountain Drive - 28 Jul
I went for a quick drive up to Big Bear today. It was so nice up there but I didn't see a single other Porsche. So I thought I ask and see if anyone one out there would like to get together next Sun and do it with me.
I was thinking of meeting in Redlands, Driving up the 330/18, stop for Breakfast/lunch in Big Bear, and then take the 38 back down to Redlands. Four hours tops. Let me know if you're interested and if we have enough people I'll make arraignments with some place in Big Bear. I was even thinking of inviting the other Porsche types too. Just make it a big Porsche Parade! What do you think?

Keep us posted. I keep meaning to do one of these morning drives, but my schedule (um, I don't usually get up early in the morning) makes it tricky.

I haven't come up with a time yet. I was thinking late morning though. Is 10-11am too early for you Jack?

OK, I better come up w/ details but I'm always open for suggestions.
Meet in Redlands between 9:30 & 10am at: Starbucks Coffee Co 627 Orange St Redlands, CA 92374 (909) 748-0691 10 east, get off at Orange St. Large Parking Lot in Rear. Leave Redlands at 10am. Take the 330/18 to Big Bear, stop for lunch (where depends on how many we have) Return to Redlands via the 38 (very nice drive). Be back in the Starbuck's parking lot no latter than 3pm. Eat Ice cream at the Pemonte Creamery right next to Starbucks (Awesome!). Anyone planning on joining me, please email me. That way I know if I only need reservations for one. I hope not!

Hi Ryan,
On the 28th I've already committed to this: http://www.geocities.com/drive_info/index.html Maybe sometime in late Aug. or early Sept? I have no problems making the drive up from San Marcos. Thanks anyway! David |

Thanks for responding David. That looks like a fun drive. I would try to go w/ you but I don't think I have enough time on Sun for that one. Keep me posted if any others come up.
If anyone wants to make it earlier on Sun let me know. I'm still solo as of now so that makes it very flexable. ![]()

It looks like I can make it. And I could probably even get there before 10.

Great Jack! That makes two of us. You have a preference for lunch? I should have staked that out on Sat when I was up there. We can pretty much do what ever we want if it's just a couple of us but I wanted to make a map up for everyone so we don't lose anyone in town (just in case). Did you want to make it earlier?
Anyone else? I know some of you guys would love to see Jack's car now that it's complete. I'm looking forward to it. I just hope I can keep up with him!

No preference for lunch.
I think we'll also have Tyson Schmidt in his C2. Why don't we say we'll meet at the Starbucks between 9:30 and 10:00?

You got it, Starbucks at 9:30 - 10:00. That's great Tyson will be joining us. That makes three. I hope we can get about six, the week's young.

Well it looks like about an hour drive for me up to the Starbucks. I might be able to make it if the wife will cut me lose. I doubt she wife would want to go. She can't take the road to Big Bear, too many turns, especially in the P-car.

Paul, love to have you. The roads to Big Bear aren't too bad. I'm hoping that there won’t be much traffic. Those roads can be way too fast without traffic though.

I wonder if I would be welcome in my smelly 72 T with impact bumpers? That's assuming I could keep up by flooring it the whole way!

If you can make it up here, you are welcome! If you break down, I have AAA, or we go to the bottom of the hill, grab my truck, and tow you back.

Sam, are you going to join us Sun? I think that might make four or five. The more the merrier, I'm just glad I don't have to go solo for a change. Actually I've owned my car for five years and have not had the pleasure of driving with other P-cars. Sad, I know. I'm really starting to get excited about this weekend, if you can't tell.
I'm soooo glad I found Pelican!

I'm thinking about Big Bear Mountain Brewery for lunch, not necessarily for the Beer. Although, I don't think one will hurt.
![]() It's right off the main road so that'll be cool. I need to check out the parking though.
