KEP pressure plate in 3.6 conversion
Hey guys,
Just finished installing my 3.6 conversion engine in my 89 G50 Carrera yesterday with a new KEP pressure plate and lightweight flywheel and for some reason the clutch pedal just doesn't feel right ... it seems the effort is like three times as much as the OEM clutch was and before i go too far i would like to know if that's normal or i need to pull the engine out and investigate further ??? Anybody have experience withe a KEP flywheel in a 3.6 ? Cheers Phil

Phil, the pedal feel is pretty darn stiff - even with a Stage 1 plate.
I was amazed after switching back to stock PP. The pedal is feather light compared to the iron leg action with the KEP. Hope this helps. Wes |

Thank you Wes,that's what i wanted to hear !
Darn stiff is not the word ... lol OK,i'm glad i don't have to drop the engine to investigate further.I had my son depress the clutch pedal a few times and after looking through the top inspection hole on the tranny, everything seems to be working normally, guess i'll just develop a stronger left leg ![]() Cheers Phil

I appreciate the response guys,i was kind of worried and had visions of dropping the engine because something was wrong with the clutch/pressure plate assembly due to the conversion !
Cheers Phil
