Thank you, I searched on bracket and it shows: 3 Point Non Retractable Seat Belts. lot of brackets available, but I do not know if they are strong enough to hold the load ????


ALSO, my report on Belt Angle, what is 27 deg, this is well withing 40 deg, I've used simple iPhone app, as you see on the following picture

This is how I did it on my '66. I used a piece of (roughly, as I recall) 1x6x.25" strap steel- I welded a nut onto the back of each strip for the actual belt anchor, then drilled and tapped 2 more holes (one near each end), threaded my "reinforcement" through the dome light hole and bolted it to the back side of the roof area directly above the B pillar.

I would have welded it into place, but didn't want to burn my new paint and the reinforcement is very solid, providing good shear support. I bolted the reel directly through the side in the traditional position (thinking that the locking mechanism wouldn't work correctly in any other orientation) and then reinforced that mounting point from within the wheel-well with more 1" strap steel. I could post pics, but I don't have my upper belts bolted in just yet (and the headliner is covering where it'll bolt in)- the reel location is nothing special- basically the same as any of a million other 911s.

I felt the same way as the OP about the safety of the simple lap belt, and I also replaced my seats with those from an '87 Carrera for the same safety reason (my '66 is no original concours queen!)
