pedal cluster 80 sc

Well I finally got everything back in place and this morning reattached the clutch cable to pedal cluster and tranny lever. I noticed that the clutch pedal was not sitting even with the brake pedal. There seemed to be a small amount of play. When I started the engine and engaged the clutch nothing would happen. Finally trying to shift caused the tranny grinding. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks. Beany.

Clutch cable travel........

Measure the distance the the clutch cable end (clutch release lever) travels at the transmission side. You need approx. 1" longitudinal travel when you depress the clutch pedal. The brake pedal is adjusted according to the correct clutch pedal position (rest). And not the other way around.
