OK, I am not that good at electrical stuff, so I would be grateful for a few pointers here. The turn signal repeater lights in my speedo both come on dimly whenever the engine ignition is on. The actual outside turn signals all work fine but when I select left or right. the arrows are a little haywire, simultaneously flashing brighter on the side I am turning and dimmer on the other side but neither side ever goes out completely.
I have had the speedo out and cannot see any obvious wiring problems behind it. Could it be a turn signal switch problem? I don't want to just throw in a new switch and find that it wasn't the problem, so where should I poke around before that point?

Hello
Had some issues with my turn signals also. First the would stay on all the time and only flash when I was using them to indicate a turn. Then the finally stopped flashing all together a couple months later. Replaced the relay behind the dash and now they work fine. Good luck

JimmyVee.- Thanks for responding. Where is this relay located under the dash? I haven't been able to locate one.

Open hood. Turn blinkers on so they are engaged Reach your hand deep into the recess on the far driver's side upper corner of front hood area. There are relays up in there. Feel for the one that is clicking.

You can get to the relays by removing the tach or other gauge. Feeling for the blinking vibration will lead you there in short order.
My indicators did a similar thing. The left would come on normally when the stalk swich was activated but the second and following pulses would show weakly in both right and left gauge indicators. Problem was a that the left front turn bulb was bad- also the back of the socket had pushed out - I fixed that with JB weld. I didn't try too hard to figure out the current flow that caused the indicator phenomena.
