Replacing Fuses
Apologize in advance for such a dumb question.
![]() So how do you remove a fuse? Is there a fuse puller "tool" that is missing from inside my box, or do you just use a pliers to pull them? My fingers are too fat to get a good grip on them, so that won't work.

Push downward and life the top part out.
When you replace them try to find the ceramic based fuses. The plastic core fuses get soft with the heat and quit working in short order. (No pun intended) The ceramic fuses are tougher to find.

Also keep in mind that you can touch the metal part, and some of them have voltage running through them. Be careful, or disconnect the battery. They're not encapsulated like the modern plastic blade style fuses.

No fuse puller that I know of, how about using a pair of needle nose pliers or hemostats? I went through my FP and cleaned the contacts of the fuse block along with the ends of the fuse. After installing I measured resistance across the holder to verify that I wasn't getting a voltage drop (which would be bad). Warren

Look closely at the fuse holder. When you push down on the bottom tongue, and it acts like a spring to release the top.
(Install is the reverse of the above) Bill K also, with the ignition off, there shouldn't be any significant juice running through the exposed conductors.

and don't be a real noob like me and drop the fuses down under the fuel tank... when I first got my car I had to change out a couple and can't tell you how many I lost in the nooks and crannies in the trunk until I got a good handle on how to remove them.
