west coast canada!?
as of next month (august) ill be living in west coast canada, Vancouver. Looking to see if theres anyone here from that area.
My '78 targa is new to me although i grew up with the car. Im slowly starting to get to know her on a more personal level and having friendly people who are more experienced with these cars around is always great. Also to learn to "go to" spots and "must see" drives. This forum has been excellent so far, and would be nice to meet people in a new city who share the passion. Any big events in the area? or even just south in washington state? ill post some pics of the car as soon as the sun decides to show itself.... "sunshine state" *caugh caugh* i don't think so...

I am close by in Victoria-
Welcome to the West Coast!! Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and Victoria is considered one of the most liveable cities in the world. Its much less humid, and somewhat cooler here so I am sure you will enjoy!! Cheers! |

John Walker swap meet in Seattle would be a great start.
Welcome to the Pacific Northwest. Try to find a hard top for your targa..... I drive mine year round with the hard top in winter and go mostly topless all summer except for parking... Sun won't stop shining 5 hours south of you!

that being said my original leather collapsable roof should still do me just fine. i do however, need to get the weather stripping redone. she tends to leak a tad under heavy rainfall for the most part the winter months will be "project time" for the car. getting all the mods, detailed cleans, keeping up with all maintenance so there is minimal down time in the summer months. its always good to have some uninterrupted work time with no pressure to want to take it out. john walker meet sounds great, but i wont be up that way till at least the 26th of august so i guess it next year on that one. i cant imagine too much going on end of summer/fall since most will put their cars away.but im excited at the "adventure miles" ill put on her exploring the rural back country of the north west. |

Summer ends in late October in the PNW, so you'll have plenty of time to drive.

I have enjoyed the auto cross and de days with the pca-cwr. They have also organized a few other things that got me out with like minded porsche enthusiasts

Swing by the shop when you get to town. My contact info is on the site. We will have a full fall schedule of tech nights so you will get a chance to meet and mingle with lots of Porsche and European car nuts.

Fall / Indian Summer are the best months in the PNW. Seattle is an easy and beautiful drive from BC.
I don't have a hard top either. -C
