Big adjustable

Best are a big commercial grade adjustable wrenches(wide jaw Craftsman) from OSH about the same prices as the special wrenches. I have old Diamond Horseshoe wrenches but they are too expensive these days for most folks. Mine were perfect for installing my oil lines. EZ money on the end fittings. Also, one held the pressure relief firmly and the other broke the line nuts with ease to align everything for installation. Just do the inside nut then the outer nut and use "COPPER ANTI-SIEZE" on the threads. Remember that it is a taper seat AN Style fitting and does not require 200 ft-lbs of torque like pipe threads. Just M2CW but my block fittings broke loose with ease since they had factory torque & lots of PB Blaster soaking.

Pelican Parts - Product Information: PWE-2436RHW

Useful if you ever expect to do suspension work on your car, I have used this when dropping the engine.

Stanley Proto J3536M Metric Thin Sevice Wrench 36mm - Amazon.com
The one I use now because it's small, has a good angle to the head, and the handle is thin enough that you can put a jack handle over it as a cheater bar to get that first snap done, after that, the lines should come apart easily.

The wrench from our host.

Big ass vise grips, channel locks and left handed metric crescent wrenches.....pipe on the ends, heat for the tough ones. MAPP versus propane.

You can also go to a bike store and get a head stock stamped wrench for $7-8. I've consistently used these in combination with BigAss(TM) crescent and it has always worked.

Joe Bob is having fun again. Big Crescent wrenches are a must for the tool box. I have an expensive pile of Whitworth wrenches from fixing my dad's old airplanes that are not very useful for other things. When you go for the rear sway bar cups you will need the big($50) channel locks to squeeze them onto the balls. We called them Volkswagen pliers at the old shop back in the day. Anything else is skinned knuckles and screwdrivers thru the hand. Do not get too hung up on having that special tool because you need versatility in tools and unfortunately you cannot wait for Pelican to ship tools to your pit on race day. Good luck.
