Sc quit, stranded, advice?

After 200 miles driving yesterday, today, she cut out and the starter won't budge. Today, when I get off the gas, the idle drops rapidly and sometimes the car stalls. Just happened, but this time no action when I turn the key. Waiting for cables and a multimeter. If the battery is good ill look at the wires to the starter. Anything else?

Dude - Hate to be a stinker but the data you have provided is lean.

Put yourself in the shoes of the reader and read your post again.

Sounds to me like an incomplete charging circuit that has drained your battery. Could be a dud alternator, or a bad ground or cable connection(s) to the battery.

When you turn the key (not start) do you see any lights in the gauges? With someone observing, what do they see when you turn the headlights on? Are they especially dim? Is the turn signal especially slow when you try that?

BTW, if the battery is over six years of age you might add that to your replacement list as a minimum. A bad cell or similar puts a lot of strain in the system and it is the cheapest spend in time and money.

Lights are strong. Fuel whine in engine bay is strong. Ground strap, main harness, all wires in plain site are connected. I'll try the turn signal in a minute. Went to get a multimeter and a jack so I can check out the starter wires.

Got it. Yellow wire slipped off starter. Jfc. Thanks all for your advice and concern. Great to have friends nearby in a crisis!

Thanks for coming back and following up with what actually caused the failure. Many people don't and no one can learn from the situation--so good job!
