Ring and pinion
What makes a 6:29/16 R&P so rare? I'm still learning internal functions of the 902

The 6 tooth pinion has too few teeth for its diameter (actually 7 is too small as well. I think it is 11 teeth that is the minimum) and wears out quickly. It is also super short such that it is only good for hillclimb/rally boxes, or a lower powered car.

The 902/16 with the 6:29 ring & pinion was an option and only made for a few years starting in Nov. of 68 for the 69 year model. The idea was hill climbing. Didn't last to long.
