SCWDP PL8

While idly looking for a vanity plate, I noticed that the following is apparently available in California:

"SCWDP"

Oh well, guess no one here would be interested . . .

Go to https://vrir.dmv.ca.gov/ipp/PerLicensePlateServlet

Doug - nice touch with the plate frame. I am guessing that most people you pass on the road don't have a clue what the name represents.

I have had interesting comments about that frame. (BTW, I thank Jack Olsen for helping me find it.)

Of course, non-Porsche (and Boxster) owners don't have a clue about VP, but if they ask, I feel it's my duty to tell them the *whole* story.

I also have a friend in Hermosa Beach who lived near VP's showroom when he owned it. He said it was a wonderful place to visit, *if* you could ingratiate yourself with Mr. Polak.

FWIW, that particular plate frame dates from, I believe, the late '80's until the dealership was sold. It was used for both the Porsche and Audi stores, so they cranked out thousands of 'em.

They show up occasionally on eBay. I bought new set from a woman in Lomita last year who had a NOS supply for $10, if I recall.
