Old Movie w/ Pcar I want to get-King of the Hill
I remember watching this movie (I think on the early days of HBO) King of the Hill. I remember the gist being some racing of Porsche's and cars on Mulloholland and the main actor is the guy from the old L.A. Law-Harry Hamlin.
Has anyone seen this movie? Know where I can find it? I have been sort of half heartedly searching and been unable to find it. DVD preferred but VHS is fine too. (I am building a collection of DVD's with Porsche's in them and of course classic car chases etc.)

King of the Mountain.
'A group of friends race their high-powered cars up and down a dangerous and deadly mountain road known as Mulholland Drive to see who can claim the title of "King of the Hill."' Sounds familiar. ![]()

I think you might be referring to King of the Mountain , an extremely cheesy late '70's movie.
As I recall, Hamlin had what must have been a 700HP 935 engine in his Speedster kit car, if the driving sequences were to be believed... ![]() Tim |

Jack & Emcom have it! Thats the movie! But can you order it from there? I had Blockbuster try and get it once and they said they could not.
The detail I remember about it the main character (Harry Hamlin) drives a 356 convertible/speedster with not OEM wheels and tires that I always thought looked really good. I just glanced at that web site you guys posted the link to, but it does not appear you can order it. I am going back to look a bit harder.

Jack ... did you write that convoluted script when you were 10 years old?
Most notable character was 'Cal' ... not really an acting job for Dennis Hopper, just a flashback! Sort of like his absolutely CRAZY series of Nike NFL-related commercials from 3-4 years ago!!! Making 'cameo' apperaces, or more accurately, window dressing, were several RSR's, Turbo's, and other 911's ... but nobody ever talks about them, even though they are at the shop owned by Haggerty where Hamlin works! And, then there is Cal's split-window 'Vette that has more bare fiberglass ... than primer! When its' rallye timer stops in a crash ... Cal's heart stops, too, and the flashback ends!

VHS movies?
You might want to try: MAIN ATTRACTIONS
PO Box 4923 Chatsworth, CA 91313-4923 They sell new, sealed VHS tapes. Not sure if they carry DVDs. I bought my Le Mans and American Graffiti (25th Anniversary Edition) tapes from them. They carry alot of old hot rod movies. Sorry, I can't find their phone #. I don't know if they have a website. HTH. |
