Warren's Annie going to paint!

After a few years of gathering parts and sorting things out, Annie's time has come. I've been removing trim, putting body parts on and will remove the dash and drop the engine this weekend. Next week, she goes in for a strip, straighten and a new coat of Signal Yellow. Hope Warren is watching over and is proud.

We miss you Warren! Best of luck with the car, maybe tell a little bit about her for those of us that don't know?

Gary,
Annie is a 73S Targa. She is Signal yellow, with dark brown leather/houdstooth interior. Best I can tell, the 69K miles on the odometer are original. It's a very rust free chassis and from what I can tell, original engine. As generous as he was with help and information, Warren was pretty closed about parts of his private life. Much of what I think I know about her is information gathered from his sister and assumptions from photos and dates on inspection stickers/registrations.

Warren bought her in 78, drove her until about 84 when he started converting her into a track car. Remember, early cars - even S's weren't prized at that time. After he did a bunch of tear down and cut the quarters for flairs, he became ill and didn't do much with her after.

About a year after Warren's untimely passing, his sister approached me about buying the car and restoring her. She wanted more than anything else for Annie to stay local and to get to ride in her again.

When it came time to go to West Texas to pick up Annie, Island911 was gracious enough to come down to help gather all her parts and get her back to Dallas. Since many parts had been sold off to convert her(another assumption), I've been gathering replacements over the years. And now, it's time for some big progress!

Early Days

Parts Warren gathered to convert for track

Quarters weld back on

Mark, This is fantastic news. I am happy for you and Annie. It will be great to see her on the road. HCR14 as a debut?

Jamie - 2015 for sure. The painter says 3 - 6 month, so I expect to her back late this year.

Thumbs up

Mark, I still have a number of Warren decals and stickers we were selling to raise some funds for his medical costs. Please pm me your address and I'll send a bunch of each to you. The car won't look right without one!
Nice job!

That's a lot of truck for a naked Annie.
