Facelift and Upgrade for CIS Primer
I have just uploaded a major makeover to the CIS Primer. Some pages may still need some minor mods, but all the Menu Items should have a link to a new page, some with previously posted info, some with new info.
The old URL is still valid: 911 CIS Primer - Index There is newly posted info on the Lambda system, and I hope to have new info to add when I can get it together. I will be filling in with more info over the next weeks. Right now I need a break. |
Thank you, Jim.
I am looking forward to going through it. How much time did the upgrade take? |
Jim, excellent rework, I have been on it twice already!
Thank you for your expertise. And I might add a damn fine first name too! Jim Porco '75 Targa |
great info! Very helpful.

If I was able to do what you did, I would have kept a beer count. :-) |
Thanks
Thanks for your work!
I reference your page embarrassly often! |
That was supposed to say embarrassingly! I'm afraid spell check has ruined me.
|
Jim, great job!
I think you just obsoleted my CIS for Dummies thread. :) One question. On the Lambda CIS description page you say that the Lambda system does not have a vacuum connection for the WUR. I have an '83 with type -090 WUR and it does have a vac line. So is that correct? |
Wur-090........

Tim, Are you sure? Are we talking the same WUR-090 you sent me? The WUR-090 for '81-'83SC's (US models) have no vacuum port. Could you post picture of the said WUR? Thanks. Tony |
Tony,
Yep, I'm sure. I even went to the car to double check. I am on my phone now so I can't post the pictures but will later. I know for certain it is the same one and I distinctly remember taking off the vac line adapter before I mailed it. Wow, this is strange then... |
An "090" has a throttle-body vacuum connection, but it's there only as a scavenge/safety device if the warm-up regulator were to fail and leak internally (it sucks up fumes and fuel). The vacuum line hook-up does not affect operation of the unit.

And there we have it! Thanks for the clarification, Brian.

I just discovered a Missing Link on the Primer. It was to a page under Electrical showing the electrical connections for the Lambda ECU. This was on the old Primer edition, but I missed posting the link in the new menu.
I am also close to having a re-pro version of the K-Jetronic Troubleshooting Guide ready for printing. Email if anyone is interested in a copy. This was out of print years ago, and I have a personal letter from PCNA that it will not be re-issued. There is a web-based version on the CIS Primer site at: Notebook Spiral |
Thanks Jim! I am a fan of your primer.
|
Thanks for all your efforts Jim, invaluable stuff !
|
Outstanding job !
