flares RS vs SC?

Personally, there is no difference unless...you're building a show piece.

They all weld the same and looks the same.

good luck...svaldez

What year is the body?

For early 70's the RS is the way to go. If it is a Miami Vice wide body and/or rag top conversion the SC/aftermarket is less $$$. A high quality installation is a must to keep from looking "HOMEMADE" on the rear fenders. IMHO. Keeping period correct gives the car better lines when only doing rear flares. Seriously look at the long term value of your 911 before hacking it up past the point of "no return from hot rodding". I have 30 years of experience to see what happened with my changes and the long term vehicle value implications & costs. If it is a numbers car & clean keep it pure(sell to a collector?) but if it is already a hot rod just knock yourself out!!! It is your $$$ so make yourself happy.

Hey Gents,
I am wanting to "widen" my sc with steel flares..Not too radical, but enough to get 16x9 / 265, 275 tires under the fender...

Where are places to find SC flares , steel , 8 or 9inch??

thanks

Remember oil hose clearance on the inside

Len has the "over the top oil lines" so your wide tires do not scrub the oil hoses. Len made a set for SC70 that are nice.

It sounds like you're willing to flare beyond what SC or RS flares might provide. If so and if possible, suggest sourcing wheels/tires first, then trial-fit/install flares to confirm adequate clearance (remove torsion bars to allow full suspension travel) You can also confirm inside clearance/interference with existing oil lines, camber/toe bolts, etc.
