Question carrera electric gremlins

hi my carrera 3.2l will start,but ten minutes later try to start but no spark.also have intermittent backdrain of battery.i believe i am not alone with spark problem.have spent weeks looking.not funny when stuck in traffic.HELP ANYONE.is it dme,coil ignition switch? greetings from green ireland!

Check your DME for cracked solder joints, esp around the transistors that stand up from the circuit board on the aluminum heat sinks. The symptom of these going is sudden intermittant no-spark that usually comes on at some point as the car is warming up, or cause a no-start condition that also comes and goes.

thanks chuck,any ideas on backdrain,can be 13amp and again intermittent

Position and reference sensors can be intermittent. Battery drain could be many things it would be a good idea to do a "electrical draw" search.

+1, note battery drains 6% per day, get a C-teck 3300 tender to maintain the battery
