Wasn't there at one time a jack donut?
A hockey puck thingy that you placed on the floor jack pad or cradle itself that kept metal from hitting metal? The one I remember had a hole in the middle.
I'm not talking about the saddle you put on your jack in place of the stock one. You can't take the pad off a race type jack. But, that's not the point either. I want a polyurethane donut to go on the saddle and keep it off the jack post. I don't see one anywhere. It's not in the Pelican catalog at this time. I do see the non holed ones. The issue here is height. If you can't place the thing over the jack post, you can't slide a jack under there. |

I bought as you suggested a hockey puck and drilled a 20mm hole in it with a hole saw. Cheap, easy and works a treat.

Cool, didn't think of that.
But, today's crop of poly pads are expensive! I thought these things were like 10 bucks. What's out there? |

You could get a poly body bushing for a car or truck and use that. Some old chevy bushings are 3 or more inches diameter.

Yep, I bought some hockey pucks awhile back at Play-It-Again Sports for a few bucks each - works like a champ

I cut three to four appropriately sized squares from an old inner tube and hold them to the jack w/ a couple of wire ties.

What about the material a kitchen chopping block is made from? The white plastic/nylon type, whatever that is. Get a suitably thick chopping block and attack it with a hole saw, then quickly hide the evidence from she who must be obeyed.

I just use a hockey puck. You can pick them up used for $1-2 and fit great in the saddle of a floor jack.
