My SC on diet...
I have a plan....
Lightening my SC before I go the 3.6 conversion route. I just bought a NEW COBRA Monaco seat which weighs about 9 kg, (20lbs) and ripped out all interior, lost about 35-40 kilo (77-88lbs). Changed the standard seats weighed circa 15 kilo per seat. Added SABELT 6 point seatbelt the 4 upper points bolted directly on original rear and front seatbelt mounting holes with FIA approved bolts. http://194.18.28.132/kid/nina/conversion/step1/index.htm Inputs are welcome.

There are lots of old threads on this subject. Here's a good one from a while back, which contains a link to the Weight Loss page on the Early 911 site - some of it's relevant to SCs.

On the floorpan there is a layer of tar sheet, that comes off very easy after pre-heating with a heat gun, and a plastic scraper. about 10 kgs for both sides.
under the rear seatbacks, rear panel there is a big sound deadening mat, about 8 Kgs. The advantage of these 2 items is that you can take them off and put back the carpets and trim and no one will notice they are gone GeorgeK |
