Geneva Concours

I don't think I can make it, but the Chicago Region PCA has an entire block set aside for their Porsches.

It's nice to see the variety of cars that this event draws, everything from muscle cars to 50s cars to beautifully restored antiques. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area west of Chicago. Geneva is also a nice town to visit and shop, so there's something for everyone.

I used to live back in that neck of the woods. Geneva and that Fox River area is a really nice place.. Well, except in wintertime ! Last time I visited there was about 20 + years ago !
Post some photos of the event.
Thanks !

Sabeo,

If you are still around. I'll be heading over there a little later in the Benz.

Lots of beautiful 911s of all years. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures; hopefully someone will post some.

Porsche was very well represented, other makes not as much. No Benz's, Bimmers, or Alfas, for example. There was a gorgeous Ferrari 330 GT (?), and a Countach, as highlights. But the longhood 911s stole the show, IMO.

This has quickly become an outstanding yearly event with a great variety of amazing cars. For me though, the highlight was the 4 GM Motorama cars out of the collection of Joe Bortz. Here are a few more shots of those cars.

Wow, some cool cars. It's funny to look at the countach now, back when I was a kid that car was so amazing, still is I guess. But now it just looks kind of goofy, funny how things change or ones perception.

I think my take on the Countach is a bit different. If you ignore all the crap on the later models, like the airplane wing and the wheel flairs, it's a classic design that, in my opinion, has never been surpassed. All the supercars since look retro. At the show the Countach was parked next to a Diablo, which looks almost ordinary by comparison.

Never liked the Countach or Diablo, but maybe it's because I was born too late. Always liked the Pantera.

Morgan

Personally I liked the old Morgan tricycle with a V-twin engine better than either Lambo. It looks like it would be a blast to drive.
