Removing 80SC Power Mirror switch

Does this thing just pop out like the power window switches, or is it more complicated? I don't want to break anything... but need to dislodge it to remove door panel.

The flat part on the top unscrews from the switch. You need to use snap ring pliers or something similar to put into the holes and unscrew it. The body of the switch will then fall into the door.

To remove door panel cap, you don't need to remove the power mirror "joy stick"! It will unplug at a 4pin connector underneath.

1) Unscrew the plastic tip/cover from the door lock rod that pokes through the cap piece.

2) At the rear of the door panel cap piece remove the small plastic plug, and then unscrew the phillips head tapping screw.

3) On 911s up to '86, At the front of the door remove the phillips head tapping screw.
'87 onwards remove the single screw for plastic trim cover, then 2X tapping screws for bracket to door.

4) Gently lift the cap piece up and you will expose the back side of the power window "joy stick" Unplug the 4pin connector and remove the cap.
