Schuies questtion:

Whats the difference between a BPR8ES and a BP8ES? What function does the Resistor hA resistor plug cuts down on EMF from the ignition system.

My answer.

If you do not have a resistor plug, chances are that when you turn your radio on you will hear the plugs firing through the speakers!

I believe non-resistor plugs have less resistance, HA! novel concept, therefore they would be better for firing in and all out race application where cylinder pressure are really high.

I have a 73 911T 2.4 MFI

Or does the car run better with IRIDIUM PLUG?

Oh no, Copper only NGK or Bosch.

As far as heat range, it depends on your use?

I run the iridium BPR7EIX on my 2.7 RS spec MFI. Runs great, and I'm a bit of a lead foot. I think the 8's are too cold, fuels have changed since the factory used to recommend the platinum W265P21 plug. The new Bosch platinum are not the same as those. Iridium si closer and has a good range.
That said I used to run the copper NGK plug in the same heat range (7) and never had problems either.
The T is lower compression (7.5), so 6 might be better.

It's always fascinating when these ancient threads get bumped to see posts from some of the great guys that have since passed - Warren (Early S Man) and Ron (RoninLB) in this thread.

Many would suggest that we never really die until the our memory fades from the last living souls on earth. Grateful for the old-timers who left us with such resources - may you rest in peace, and somehow understand our gratitude.

MFI cars run rich. Iridium or other non copper plugs make a bigger spark. Result should be a better burn.
