Question What to do next?

Well, after many months on and off tinkering with my 77' 3.0l Carrera its almost done, last thing left being done is a complete rewire of the car.

Now I am waying up in my hands, I have a great 944 on offer at a fairly good price, or do I take that money and use it on the 911?

At the moment I have in my mind upgrading to a Carrera Oil Cooler setup, though I am not entirely sure because the overheating issue in the car has been giving me a headache, I am not sure its needed.

I would like to fit earlier style heat exhangers as mine are slowly rusting away.

What else would people suggest?

I have a new clutch, fairly new tires, brand new shocks, rebuilt brakes and everything else you can think of. Paint is in good order, interior is fine. I am happy with the cars performance.

The only thing that irks me is the transmission, I am running Swepco but I am not entirely happy with its shifting performance, especially shifting into first (the car has only done 70K or so miles) (second, third, fourth and fifth are great). I am fairly certain its adjusted properly. The bushings have been replaced both in the coupler and the actual shifter.

One thing I notice is that under load it pops out when I go to change. So I assume its just slightly off adjustment wise?

Though I have only done about 200km's since putting Swepco in...

I can't think of anything else except replacing the CV joints/axles, and maybe replacing the tie rods and updating to Turbo tie rods....
