What is this connector for?

Hi Guys,

82 SC. Took my CIS off to fix some huge vacuum leaks and check everything. During breakdown I noticed a connector that wasn't connected to anything. Any ideas on what this might belong to? Thanks.

Lorne,

Maybe you meant it to be WUR (?). The decel valve does not use a thermovalve (N43) but the WUR does. Refer to circuit #104. The electrical plug for the thermovalve (N43) has brown and red/white wires.

The heater blower (V4) electrical plug in the engine bay has black and brown wires. Refer to circuit #108. Both N43 (thermovalve) and V4 (heater blower) use the same electrical plug type and easy get confuse. But the wires (color) connected to them will identify which is which.

The electrical plug posted by the OP has red/white and brown wires, so Lorne identified it correctly.

The SC factory electrical engine wire harnesses for '78~ '83 are identical. However, USA spec like yours does not use a thermovalve. So this is not utilize for your specific SC. Just tack it somewhere and just be aware it is for a thermovalve. Ignore this plug.

Edit:

The heater blower plug is different from that used for thermovalve. The plug posted by the OP is for the thermovalve.

It is the Vacuum Thermovalve connector.
All 78 and 79’s use it, all Euro cars to ‘83 use it.
Not used on Lambda cars.
