Won't run after fuel leak fire MFI Webers

Looking for last ditch help. A few months ago I put MFI back on my '69 E and it ran sporadically good and bad. While moving across town to new home the car lost power due to fuel leak from MFI line and had fire on heat exchangers. No damage or fire above engine tin on top half of engine or electrics.

After replacing line vehicle started but would only run at half throttle turning over +/- 900 rpm. If you gave it any more throttle it would bog down and die. I have now replaced all MFI back to Webers that were working perfectly when removed but have similar half throttle 900 rpm issues.

What have I done???? More importantly, how do I get this car back on the road? Fuel delivery is good. Other than that I can't find a thing amiss.

Coil issues? I have Pertronix.

Thanks,

Matthew

fuel spark air

the engine sounds like it is starving for fuel as you have spark and combustion.
did you check your fuel filter? To me something is restricting your fuel flow. you have enough to run the car but not enough to increase the speed.

Plenty of fuel. I've pulled off lines and checked amount at pump and before carbs.

I'm going to assume that your using the MFI specific electric fuel pump and not the same one you had running the carbs?

If fuel delivery is good, that leaves spark and compression to deal with.
Are you getting a food strong spark? Put a timing light on each spark plug wire and check all are good.

Only half throttle w both systems...........

Ck fuel supply under load. Look at the screen in the fuel tank outlet. Sometimes this gets partly blocked to allow only enough fuel to run at low speeds. Once under way or more throttle is applied it runs out of fuel & dies.

Just my 2 cents worth of advice.

Float level and pressure check too. But fuel strainer sounds most likely.

It was melted Pertronix. When I removed the round pickup it came apart and the other piece had a grove melted into it. Replaced with new unit from Pelican and started right up.

Thanks to all that responded
