Clean your battery terminals and grounds! Or does everyone already know that?
So I'm going about my business last week installing a JWest headlight relay after my hi-lo beam/turn signal switch caught fire. When I got to connecting the relay to the battery, I figured the contacts could use a cleaning. Out comes the wire brush, off come the leads and 15 minutes later all the wire connections near the battery, including the chassis ground, are clean.
A few days later I drove home from work after dark and I notice immediately that the headlights are brighter and whiter, instead of their old dim yellow selves. Dash lights, same thing. Now I can see street signs, pedestrians and how fast I'm going. I'm not sure if I've stumbled upon something that is already common knowledge for experienced car guys, but I couldn't believe the difference that it made. I wish I had taken a before/after! Anyway, the lesson I learned is to keep contacts and terminals clean!

Also don't forget your relay kit also routed power directly from the battery to the lights, that has to help somewhat too.

Also...check the grounds back at the rear tail lights too.
They have brown wires going to tabs or screws on the body. Bob
