Heater cable help

I'm changing the heater cables and the plastic guide tubes. the guide tubes have connecters in each end. Do these connectors just push on the tube in the chasses and on the end of the clamp at the flapper box or should I use some type of adhesive to bond them to the tubes?

Thanks for any help!!!

Brad

I thought these were crimped onto the ends of the plastic tubes. They need to be stationary because when the cable is let out, if the end comes loose from the guide tube, when you pull the cable it will cause the cable not to be able to fully pulled (i.e., the end gets in the way). If that makes any sense.

Also, I think that the cable ends are kind of reverse barbed on the inside which is what helps prevent them from sliding off the guide tubes.

Sorry, it's been a year since I worked on my heater so my memory is a little foggy.

Tires - Hard time finding my size

In the past, I have run 195/55/16 on the front. I like the slightly narrower size as I is firmer and more crisp steering. I'm also limited to 205/50/16 on the rear since I have a '74 narrow body.

I just bought new Yokohama S Drives and I don't think I like them - too mushy (205/55/16 fronts and 205/50/16 rear). I previously had and liked Yokohama RE71's but they don't make in my size anymore.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried Kmho Ecsta SPT XRP and did they like the performance. Or Yokohama Advan Sport ZPS.

I've also had Yokohama 760 Sports which are ok but not as good as the RE71's.

Lastly, it's possible that the current S Drives run wider than some of the others in the 205/55/16.

Anyway, I hate the thought of buying new tires two weeks after this set but I really don't like the S-Drives.
