Hazard flasher problems

Hi!

I have some strange problems. My hazard flasher only Works when engine is running!! And my left front turning light is not working. I have cleaned the contacts , replace bulb, replace relay, but still the same problems.
Does anyone has a suggestion what could be wrong?

Best regards
FMO

it's the same problem FMO, a bad earth somewhere. With the engine running you get a bit more voltage and it works, but when the engine is off the bad earth wins. I have a lot of troubles my self with indicators and hazard, and at the end it was all about getting all earths perfectly clean.

Hazard flash

I still have hazard flash problems. They work well when engine is running, but stop working at once I shut the engine off.
I have gone trough all Connections, all Earth etc etc. Can it be the switch?

Regards
Michel

If your car is turned off and you activate the turn signal does a light go on and stay on?
If not, the supply to your turn signals and hazard switch is possibly on the wrong terminal on your light switch.
There are numerous posts showing the terminal designations for the light switch. I'd link you to some but I'm on my phone so it is a real pain to do a search....

What happens when you activate a turn signal with the car turned off?

Hazard

Everything works as it should , but not the hazard when engine is off. When Ignition is on, the turn signals is working, and they stop working if I switch on the hazard button, but nothing else.

Thanks for answers :-) Great forum

Sounds like the hazard button wiring is incorrect or the hazard switch is faulty.

I have tried two other switches, the result is the same. Have to check the terminals again...
