How do I install the rear reflector?

When I pulled the reflector off, the clips stayed attached to the reflector. Do I reinstall it with the clips on the reflector or do I pull the clips off and install them on the car then push the reflector into the clips?

When I installed a new, later model, black script rear reflector to my '79SC I pushed the rectangular clips into the steel support panel first. I also adjusted each clip to accomodate the reflector round plastic boss without too much pressure. And I made sure that the rectangular clips can move sideways inside the rectangular cutouts of the reflector support panel. Then I just pushed the whole reflector carefully into the support panel with the clips installed. I only supplied pressure where the gray plastic brackets are glued to the back of the reflector.

Are those clips available anywhere?

Thanks Porwolf, that is what I was thinking.

Mark, I would imagine they are but I didn't see them in the Pelican online catalog/

From my memory I thought I remember buying some 2 years ago somewhere. Tried to retrace my records but cannot find the possible source right now. If needed I could do some deeper research.
