Jetnuts on exhaust parts? What technology are the factory locknuts?
There are several threads on exhaust fasteners. I used extra fancy jetnuts from Coastfab on my alfa, and noticed that McMaster sells some but only in SAE sizes. See 98892A600 for instance for a 5/16" Silver-Plated A286 Super Alloy jetnut. This is a high temp locknut. These could be used with 4/15th studs on the X-over and similar exhaust parts where one side of the stud is not threaded into alum.
Does anyone know what type of locking action the factory M8 nuts have: Pelican Parts - Product Information: 900-910-097-02-OEM ? Are these deformed? There are no lock washers visible.

Are the M8 hex nuts holding the heat exchangers (#4) to headers locknuts? The PET suggests that are plain nuts.
The M8 nuts on the x-over pipe (#8) are indicated as locknuts. ![]()

Sort of interesting discovery - the M8 nuts on the 930 (#7) are listed as locknuts whereas their counterparts on the NA car are not...

high temperature lock nuts are mostly interference fit (deformed) and may not be noted in the parts catalog. i have used plain nuts and have had no problems.
