Anyone need a short nose cone G50-01 Service ?

not sure if this is the right place to post this.

Next week my friend will be doing a run of G50-01 Short nose conversions.

He will be cutting down my bellhousing/input shaft for my SC project
as well as two others and possibly a friends

He prefers to do them all at once when the machines are all set up.

If someone is interested his service is pretty inexpensive

the best way would be

1. send the bellhousing and input shaft

2. Or send the whole thing (oil drained!) and he can rebuild it too

just though Id put it out there.

Hey Blackbyrd, bump for your offer but I'm looking for something else.

You have a 993 or G50/20 or 21 diff cover for sale?

Can you explain how a nose cone shortening differs from shortening the bell housing? You mention something about other parts to send with the cone. Which other parts? Does this allow someone with a torsion bar car to install a G50 without cutting the tunnel or bar carriers?

I talked to my friend to see what we can get the price down to.

He can do the service for $1200
might be cheaper than what most shops charge to do this kind of conversion!
or Full rebuild of the trans for $3000 w/ short nose

They process has now been delayed since Im waiting for another case to come in.
So there is time

We are also doing a run of Twin plug cylinders.

Is this the right place to post this ?

Whoops don't I feel dumb, Just realized my mistake !

I was typing in "nose cone" because I was thinking "short nose" and just kept typing it in. Really it's the bell housing that gets shorten as well as the Input shaft

This conversion allows for the G50 to go in just like you would instal a 915 into your non G50 chassis (with the obvious retro fits)

You will still need the following items

1. make the hole for the shift coupler slightly bigger
(template can be provided at no cost)
2. run a custom trans mount (this can be provided for extra)
or purchase one off the shelf from Patrick motorsports
3. modify the coupler (can also be done)
4. you will need to get the proper flywheel to make the whole thing work.
(can be provided)
I might be forgetting something I will double check with him on the exact specs

Besides the service I can provide a every piece to make it as easy to install as possible instead of waiting for items from 3rd parties.

You will be able to run your current suspension unmodified
no cutting of the torsion bar area

and obviously run the hydraulic lines, pedals...ect

now for my set up I went a little different
I'm using coil overs (even though they are NOT needed)
just because I had them laying around at another friends shop
Finally I'm also setting my rear torsion bars to Neutral vs removing them and losing strength in the chassis

Sorry about the mix up
