It's Alive.....It's Alive!!!

2 Weeks...40 plus hours....finally finished the chain tensioner upgrade! On the way, put in new chain ramps, plugs (Euro part numbers), distributor rotor (rev limiting...also for Euro), distributor cap, and adjusted the valves...oil goes without being said.

The moment of truth arrived...would I have a $5K door stop...would I hear chains rattling.....NO! Ahh, the roar of 200 horses...purring like a, well, large cat. I can now drive without worrying about tensioner crashes.

Some notes: Thanks all for enduring my stupid questions. Found out you don't need to remove the distributor (although I did cut off the old oil line), found out the #3 intake valves are killers to adjust and #6...not so bad. Was happy to see nice clean spark plugs, and tensioners that hadn't failed (anyone need some with just 114K on them?) And finally, found out I would like to use that smog pump for a boat anchor...it was close!

Best part of the whole upgrade....got to buy more tools....carte blanche...no complaints from CINC House! I should have gotten more!

Again...thanks all for the help!

Rob
