915 throw out lever shaft seal question:
I was doing some cleaning around the fork shaft/lever and the seal that sits above the throw out lever crumbled apart. (pointing to the space in the picture). There is the same exact seal between the small adjustment lever and the larger throw out lever in the picture. Is this correct? When I went to order the seal online with Pelican it indicates 3 is required; however, the schematic parts diagram only shows the one seal above the large throw out arm (the one that crumbled). I don't know if the PO installed the seals incorrectly- are both are suppose to be there? Only one? Three? I is corn-fused! Thanks.

The one you have at the bottom lever doesnt go there. Remove both arms and place the seal you have in the space you show empty.
Lube the large arm to float freely on the vertical shaft and install the small arm then adjust your pedal. Bruce |

I like to put a washer in where you have the seal now. It takes up some of the space so the arm doesn't have as much up and down "slop".

I wondered why three were specified as well. It seems logical to me that the other two seals would go on top and bottom of the fork to seal out dirt from inside the bellhousing getting into the two lubricated areas where shaft pivots - top of the bellhousing and the pass-through hole from below. Although, IIRC, my 915 only had the one installed as shown in the PET diagram (top of release lever), and I don't believe there is much room for a seal at the top of the fork. I will find out soon when I go to re-install the fork.
