taking the tunnel lines to pmo carbs?!?!

After replacing my fuel tank, fuel pump, feed and return tunnel lines I'm trying to figure out the best setup to run from the tunnel lines to my pmo fpr! What do you guys suggest? My engine is being rebuilt and will be returning with pmo carbs. Thanks in advanced! Pictures of your setup are welcomed! This is my setup thus far!

The PO (or at least someone before me) had cut out a section of hard line after the tunnel line. I guess addressing a hole or crimp or something.

Anyway, switching to PMOs myself, I cut the other hard line and used Earls Fittings compression AN 6 fittings to convert everything past that to AN fittings.

A pic should be attached. On my 70 with PMO's there is a fuel line that comes up vertically at the far left. Hose attaches to that then to fuel pressure regulator then to pressure gauge then splits to the carbs. Should be able to see all of that in the pic. Pressure gauge is barely visible. Hope this helps.

Forgot to add, there is an inline fuel filter hiding behind the left carb.

Not sure what lines you are talking about. On mine we used the stock line into the rear compartment, turned a simple adapter to substitute for the stock fuel pump.

I am working through this very issue now. So far I have Len building me an adapter line for the fuel tank return to the tunnel. I also plan on running new lines through the tunnel. Working now to see if Len can build these as well. I'd like to use his polyamide lines through the tunnel with JIC fittings on each end. That way using AN fittings will be a breeze. I am using an aftermarket low pressure fuel pump so there are many challenges with getting all the lines connected.

I collected some good photos on my thread about fuel system design here: Fuel System Design

This is what I am able to make up for the rear hoses to & from the PMO Regulator.......

Its M14 Female Straight to Metric hose to JIC -6 crimped. Any length hose can be made up to run from the tunnel up along the rear seat bottom to a PMO Regulator mounted at the center of the firewall crossmember. A return hose would be the same configuration.

Len,
I'm going to need some of those in the very near future. I had planned to make them myself (even started buying some of the fittings), but this would reduce my installation time. I'll send you a PM to inquire about pricing.

Len,

Could you pm me a price for both the return and feed lines shipped to 22701. I think those would work great. The fpr will have barbed push on fittings so I would just need the fittings to mate to the lines coming out of the tunnel. Thanks for the helpful responses!

Best to email me. I can keep better track of messages and send photos when needed.

I ship everything by Priority Mail. $6 for a Flat Rate pouch. $20 for a full chassis set in a large Flat Rate box.

Thanks,

i replaced my tunnel fuel lines a few years ago when doing a sbc conversion. i used dash 8 and dash 6 lines i believe. recently one of the lines has started to leak . the motor is a dart all aluminum 434 cubic inch sbc roller motor with efi. i have an aftermarket shifter so i dont have to deal with the shifter rod in the tunnel. the fuel lines mount to the in-tank fuel hat with an fittings and at the engine as well. if i change to aluminum, what do i use to terminate the aluminum lines to attach to An fittings? thanks for any help!

You can buy 37deg Tube sleeves and Nuts and flare the tube ends. I will look for a photo of same.

However, Alum tube will crack when under vibration. Better to use SS tube. Our host has this in 6ft lengths just for this purpose.

Here's what they look like............

We used these in AN-16 & AN-20 sizes for oil lines through the chassis on our GT-2 car. I may have a few in stock for AN-06 tube. I will check. If I do, they are free if you pay postage. Sadly, no longer doing this track stuff.

It is seamless, so it should bend w/o issue. I have used it prior to having the factory Polyamid tube available, but never needed to bend it.

Here are a couple photos.......

I had Metric Tube Nuts machined so these could be used in High Pressure apps such as EFI on the older models.

We used the adaptors above and from there used Aeroquip fittings.

Eddie,
The filter came from a local speed shop around the corner.

Pure Power Oil Filters High Performance Motor Oil is the manufacturer.
