SC Oil Cooler Upgrade to Carrera

I searched and didn't find specific answers regarding SC oil cooler upgrades. Is upgrading the SC loop oil cooler to a Carrera oil cooler a straight forward job? Has anyone tried it? Any advice would be most appreciated.
Thanks

I've upgraded to an aftermarket (not Carrera) oil cooler mounted in the same location as the trombone cooler, and that was pretty straightforward. So, I can only imagine installing the factory one is even easier. I had to fabricate mounts, shroud, lines, etc., but it wasn't that bad. Factory one should *almost* be plug and play.

Not dif, especially if you can weld. I put the Carrera unit in my SC with the block off surround etc. I also put the stock fan in place switched to the dash (needed for hot stop/go/traffic driving).
Very easy to control the temp I want.
You will have to move your horns forward.

The bracket can be bolted onto the body, so you are OK there if you cannot get a welder in place. Bracket and upper "L" shaped bracket are sold by Pelican. Feel around the upper part of your headlight, under the fender, and see if the "L" bracket is not already welded in place - it became a standard item for the SCs, esp. the ROWs.

I bolted in all of these parts to put in the 28-tube brass cooler in my SC. Not the Carrera cooler, which will certainly keep your car cooler than the 28-tube ever will.

When I had my SC it made a noticeable drop in temperature. Unless you move the horns you have to make sure you position the cooler just right to avoid rubbing on the tire.
