I'm in the fight
Funny coincidence, Tim. I removed my battery for an unrelated issue (it's a Miata sized Westco, this one has lasted 5 years), and I have the relays, H4's, etc. Same setup as yours.
While doing the battery, I busted the yellow lead from the relay to the battery. Didn't notice until I tried to drive at night...oops. So, fixed. Next time I'm driving at night, lights on low beam, suddenly headlights go dim. Hmm, flick to high, just fine. Back to low, just fine. "Must be a Gremlin". Then, two minutes later, same occurence: flicking from dim to bright (on low beam). Ignored until now, as the SSI install has been consuming all my thoughts. Drove this AM early with low beams on, no issues. I'm willing to bet it's a relay failing. Cheers Scott |

How's your alternator? Sounds like the symptoms I was experiencing before I replaced the alternator--flickering low beams, low power lights from time to time, fluctuating dashboard lighting. I lost a couple of bulb sets before I replaced the alternator--and that's with the relays installed.
