track day pics at last!

well here they are:

its strange that i've had a handling issue, and it felt like there was a lot of body roll driving the car. but in the pics the roll doesn't seem excessive does it??

maybe its tyres or something. am i lifting a rear wheel in second last pic?

Body roll doesn't look bad at all.

You don't wanna lift a rear wheel! Hard to power out of the corners with limited power. If you have an open diff., you'll notice the loss of power with wheelspin. Looks like inside rear is down okay in second to last pic.

Hi Richard, Great pics!

Is that an instructor with you, or just someone along for the ride ?!!! It's hard to tell whether your rear tire is lifted in that picture, doesn't look like it though.

Cheers,

Tim.

thanks.

no instructor - took a couple of mates along for the ride!

i didn't think the wheel was lifting, just this damn handling thats bugging me. in the car it really felt like it was rolling, and it was on the limit - of understeering, and pushing out wide i think.

Great looking car and awesome pictures.
Based on your comment about the "mates in the car". Either your club is more lenient on DE than ours, or you are an instructor.
WE are not allowed passengers.
Notwithstanding, nothing beats seat time on a track!

sorry guys, my pc is down at home - so i only have limited access at the mo.

thanks for the comments.

the track is brands hatch in the uk. the pics were taken by a pro photographer working on the day - cost me a an arm/leg. but it was my first one so what the hell.

the evening was run by a private track day company, and all you had to do was pay £5 per passenger. they also had to sign an imdemnity (sp?) form, waiving liability.

Nice pictures - clearly shows your broken front number plate.

When pushed hard (only on the road so far) my '88 also has bad understeer and a feeling of body roll. I have been advised to get the front dampers replaced and the geometry set up correctly but I'm changing the front tyres first.

lol - that was the first thing my other half said

i tried new dampers - no difference.

i'm going for new t/bars, bushes, then realignment and balance. then its got to handle!

I want to drive some UK tracks. Any British trackday guys want to organize an exchange program? You come here and drive Watkins Glen/Lime Rock, etc in my car then I come over there and drive Brands, etc in yours. We work out a gentleman's agreement.
